Aliza Brugger is an editor drawn to character-driven stories, emotional nuance, and the quiet tension that lives between cuts. With an MFA in film from Columbia University and a BA in film studies from University of Nebraska, they bring a deep understanding of story structure and tone to the edit, shaping projects with intention and precision.

Aliza’s editing work spans genres and formats, including feature films, short narratives, documentaries, commercials, branded content and music videos. Their most recent narrative feature includes the comedy My First Day Selling Crack (dir. Eric Wilhoyt), and have begun work on feature documentaries A Little Gay on the Prairie and Blow Yo Horn: Making Music in a Man's World, both in production. Their narrative shorts have screened at major festivals including Dances with Films, LA International Shorts, Maine International, Overlook, Sidewalk, and Houston WorldFest—where their work on "Soma" received a Remi Award.

In the world of branded content, Aliza has cut spots for Möet Hennessy, Upstream Farms, and the ICMY campaign, combining story instincts with clean, impactful visuals. They’ve also edited music videos for artists like Møzzie (Crawl), Sa-Roc (Wild Seeds).

Aliza splits their time between LA and NYC and thrives in collaborative, creatively ambitious environments. Whether working on stylized genre pieces or quiet rural dramas, they bring a clear editorial voice and a deep commitment to the emotional truth of each project.
